1 . Tarteel:

1. Tajweed of the  letters.
2. Making proper stops.

Tarteel is:

1. Where it is permissible to stop.
2. Where proper stops are.
3. Where to make different stops.
4. Improper stops may change the meaning.
5. Tajweed is to beautify your recitation.
6. The aim should be to be an excellent reciter of the Quran.

Hadeeth:

It was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The one who recites the Qur’aan and learns it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven) and the one who exerts himself to learn the Qur’aan by heart and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.”

 (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4653; Muslim, 798)

Explanation:

People who learns Tajweed with difficulty gets two rewards, one for reading and one for trying. People who has mastered the Tajweed is still better than the one who learns it with difficulty, there is no match. The aim is to be like one who recites very good.

Ibnul Jazri (Great Scholars of Tajweed) The Madhaar- The refrence point of Tajweed.

ð     “Muqaddimah ” is the book for level 3 Tajweed.

Ibnul Jazri RA Said: “Reciting the Quran with Tajweed is compulsory. Whoever is not reciting the Quran with Tajweed is committing a Sin. Because Allah swt has revealed the Quran with tajweed. And from the prophet (s) to us the Quran came with Tajweed. Tajweed is a beautification of the recitation.”

ð     We are going to follow the recitation of Imam Hafs who was student of Imam Asim.

2. What is Tajweed?

 In Arabic it means to beautify or make something beautiful and in technical definition Tajweed means to give every letter two things:

a.       Its Haqq: inherent qualities

b.      Its Mustahaqq: secondary qualities.

ð     Every letter should be differentiated and read individually. E.g. Quran should be read Qu-Ra-Aa-An.

3. What is the ruling of Tajweed?

Learning science of Tajweed is Fardh Kifaaya (community obligation) and reading Quran with Tajweed is Fardh ain (personal obligation).

4. What is the result of taking Tajweed?

a.              Immediate result: To protect the tongue from making mistakes is Allah’s word (Quran)

b.              Final result: To achieve success in hereafter.

5. Who formulated this into a Science?

This science was made science by the scolars of Qiraat. Like Abu Umar ad-doory.

6. Why this science is so great?

Because it deals with word of Allah directly without human intervention.
